I participated in a workshop today called ‘Cardboard Capers’. I attended the first ever session back in June and thought it would be amazing to get on board again.
Basically the concept for the workshop was to create ‘toys’ and play equipment- for Kindergarten/ Preschool aged children,- entirely out of cardboard.
The first workshop featured objects such as rocking horses, cubby houses, fully interactive clocks and even a working pinball machine. It was a major success and even made it on chanel10 news.
This session, we had some old students return to participate and some new faces which was quite lovely. Run by the amazing QUT SONA (Student Organised Network of Architects) it was a fun and really casual and productive day. Toys made included ’George’ the dinosaur, an aeroplane suit , cubby houses, a fish bowl with moveable fish for ‘plays’ the children may want to put on and i managed to successfully make an interactive ’noughts and crosses’ game. In the next few weeks we’ll get to personally deliver them to the kindergartens which will be incredibly lovely.
Can’t wait to do more projects like these in the future, and i hope you all enjoy the photos.
Peace and love,
Ololade.
